| French Weave This type of re-weaving is done on very small holes, up to about the size of a dime. It is a meticulous process in which threads are taken from an inside seam of the grament and are acutally hand woven in and out of all the other threads in order to close the hole and make it invisible. It is a time-consuming process and is thus the most expensive method. Peace Weave or Over Weave This is the most common re-weaving process. A piece of fabric from a hidden area of the garment is placed over the hole and interwoven into the edges of the hole. It also, is a difficult process and must be matched exactly with the pattern of the garement. Piece Weave on a solid color material may show a discernible square outline. Plaids tend to show much less almost as if done with the French Weave Method. Re-Knitting This type of weave can be done on knitted fabrics only , such as sweaters, double knits, wool knits or polyester. Visibility depends on the type and color of the knit and the size of the damage. |
